Fried Spicy Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings



Ingredients:

White Wine Sauce: 

  • 1 cup of white wine (African Rock Sauvignon Blanc  or white wine of your choice) 
  • 1 cup chicken broth 
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice 
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic 
  • 1/2 stick melted butter 
  • 1 to 2 eggs 
  • 1 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning 
  • 1 tbsp onion powder 
  • 1 finely sliced jalapeno pepper or spicy red pepper (optional) 
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce or wing sauce 

Chicken Wings: 

  • 2 - 3 lbs Chicken Wings 
  • vegetable oil (enough to fill frying pan half way) 
  • 1 cup flour 
  • 1/2 tsp salt 
  • 1 tsp pepper 
  • 1/2 tsp seasoning salt 
  • 2 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning 
  • 1 tsp garlic powder 
  • 1 tsp onion powder 
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

Chicken Wings:

  1. Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees in a large cast iron skillet
  2. While oil is heating stir all of the ingredients for the wing sauce together in a bowl
  3. Rinse wings then place them in a large bowl
  4. Pour the sauce over the wings and stir them up so all of the wings are covered
  5. Mix the flour and all of the dry seasonings together in a brown paper bag or XL ziploc bag
  6. Place 3 -4 wings in the bag with the flour mixture and shake together well
  7. Place wings in hot oil and fry for 5 - 7 minutes turning at least once.
  8. Place on paper towel lined plate or pan
  9. Repeat steps 6 & 7 until all wings have been fried
  10. Serve with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc & ENJOY!
