Fried Spicy Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings
White Wine Sauce:
- 1 cup of white wine (African Rock Sauvignon Blanc or white wine of your choice)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 stick melted butter
- 1 to 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 finely sliced jalapeno pepper or spicy red pepper (optional)
- 1 tbsp hot sauce or wing sauce
Chicken Wings:
- 2 - 3 lbs Chicken Wings
- vegetable oil (enough to fill frying pan half way)
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp seasoning salt
- 2 tbsp lemon pepper seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions:
Chicken Wings:
- Heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees in a large cast iron skillet
- While oil is heating stir all of the ingredients for the wing sauce together in a bowl
- Rinse wings then place them in a large bowl
- Pour the sauce over the wings and stir them up so all of the wings are covered
- Mix the flour and all of the dry seasonings together in a brown paper bag or XL ziploc bag
- Place 3 -4 wings in the bag with the flour mixture and shake together well
- Place wings in hot oil and fry for 5 - 7 minutes turning at least once.
- Place on paper towel lined plate or pan
- Repeat steps 6 & 7 until all wings have been fried
- Serve with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc & ENJOY!
